The S36DR shocks from Ohlins are the mid-level workhorse of their line. Unlike the basic emulsion shocks, the DR line utilizes a divided piston that separates the damping circuit oil from the stabilizing nitrogen charge. Keeping the nitrogen and oil separate reduces the risk of cavitation (foaming) that can occur under aggressive riding conditions.
